There is plenty of gun action, enough to keep western fans happy.  There’s even love interest between Wyatt Earp (Burt Lancaster) and Laura Denbow (Rhonda Flemming) and the disfunctional bond between Doc Holliday (Kirk Douglas) and Kate Fisher (Jo Van Fleet).

But it is really the focus on the relationship between the lawman and the gambler that keeps the movie interesting.

Douglas and Lancaster made seven movies together – I Walk Alone (1948), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957), The Devil’s Disciple (1959), The List of Adrian Messenger (1963), Seven Days in May (1964), Victory at Entebbe (1976), and Tough Guys (1986).
